The role may be in a supporting role to the I&C project team developing field instrument deliverables such as indexes and datasheets, or as a Task Lead responsible for managing a specific scope of work like Instrument Requisition Engineer or Mechanical Package Support Engineer. Depending on size of the task, the Task Lead may be required to complete some of the work themselves.

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for development of Instrument Index and Instrument Datasheets. For small projects, may be called upon to develop these documents. For large projects, will direct a team of engineers in a support office for completion of the documents, then review the documents (support office develops the documents).

    • As a Requisition Engineer (RE) for instrument packages (e.g., valves, gauges, transmitters, flow meters), the RE will be responsible for working with Supply Chain for the development of requisition for quote packages, technical bid evaluations, requisition for purchase packages, and reviewing supplier data. For large projects, the RE will coordinate these efforts with support office engineers who are doing most of the work. For very small projects, the RE will complete much of the work themself.

    • As a Mechanical Package Support Engineer, the Engineer will support the Mechanical discipline requisition packages by providing I&C requirements to the requisition, participating in technical bid evaluations, reviewing supplier data, and attending factory testing. For large projects, will coordinate these efforts with support office engineers who are doing most of the work.

    • Help with development of instrument philosophies and specifications.

    Essential Qualifications and Education:

    • Minimum 10-15 years in the oil and gas industry working as an I&C engineer.

    • Minimum 4 years serving as a Senior Engineer.
