Process Engineer

Our client, a chemical manufacturer in the Baton Rouge, LA area, is seeking a Process Engineer to be an integral part of their Operations team. The Process Engineer will improve operations through improvement of raw material and energy efficiency, plant improvements and expansions, better utilization of byproducts, reliability improvements, and safety & environmental progress, as well as implementation of new product production.

About the Role

• Develop and maintain technical understanding and working knowledge of major unit processes.

• Conduct plant production improvement projects including process engineering studies, design and implementation of plans.

• Monitor and improve multiple unit performance efficiency and yield.

• Identify and evaluate areas for operational improvement and strategies.

• Identify and implement process changes and modifications to enhance operating reliability and efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering

• 5+ years experience in a chemical manufacturing environment

• Microsoft Office Suite experience, SAP experience a plus

• Experience with distillation simulations and design
